Welcome to our School Community
Parent Involvement is the key to a successful school.
We thank these groups for sharing their time and talents for the good of our students.
|The PTG is the fundraising branch of parent leadership. The four major school fundraisers include the Scrip Program, the Fall Festival, Jog-a-Thon, and the Auction. PTG meets on a monthly basis and also holds a number of general parent meetings a year, including Back to School night in September, a featured speaker during the school year, and a family spaghetti dinner in May.|
Enhance communication among parents, teachers and administrators
Coordinate school fundraising efforts
Coordinate spiritual, educational and social resources of home, school and community to provide the best Catholic education possible
Assist Principal and Pastor to integrate school and parish communities
With fundraising efforts, the PTG is able to provide the school with $65,000 each year, which goes directly into the general budget and makes up the difference between tuition charged and the actual cost to educate a child at St. Didacus.
Other money is spent on hospitality events such as: Grandparents’ Day, First Communion Reception, Graduation ceremonies for Preschool and 8th Grade, New Parent Orientation; Monthly Teacher Appreciation Luncheons, and all evening schoolwide community events.
Room Parents are an important part of the PTG. They coordinate many events and interact closely with your children’s teachers. Room Parents also play a very important part in welcoming new families to our St. Didacus School Community. They run the PTG Sponsored Teacher Appreciation Lunches each First Friday.
The Advisory Board consists of parents and community members whose goal is to advise pastor and principal in matters concerning school policy, business, enrollment, technology as well as legal and maintenance issues. This Board networks its efforts with those of the PTG Board and the Development Core Team.
The Development Core Team is concerned with the long-range planning and development processes to ensure the continued existence of St. Didacus Parish School.
The Development Core Team, with the pastor and principal, also implement development plans which include community and alumni relations, financial planning, building endowment funds, outreach, public relations, and other avenues which identify, inform, invite, involve, implement, invest in, and improve St. Didacus Parish School. The focus of the Development Core Team is “the meaningful involvement of people in our mission and vision for the future.”
Parent Prayer Group
Our parent prayer group meets Mondays in the school auditorium after morning assembly to pray for our students, teachers and all members of our school and parish community.
Please feel free to join us as often as you can and be a part of this special mission of service to the St. Didacus community.
Christian Action Program – CAP
The Christian Action Program was incorporated into our school to provide an additional avenue for our families to grow in their faith. The Christian Action Program encourages all of us, both parents and students, to delve deeper into our faith and to see how service to the community and parish can bring our living God more deeply into our lives. This K-8 faith-enrichment program is designed to strengthen our knowledge and practice through three specific elements:
- Family Masses
- Fellowship & Service
- Mornings of Prayer
