Since the schools of the Diocese are established and maintained by the Diocesan community as religious schools, preference in admissions shall be given to practicing members of the Diocesan Catholic community. Preference in admission shall be given to the children of active supporting members of St. Didacus Catholic Church. In the case of Catholic students, some preference shall be given to the admission of siblings of students already enrolled in the school. Enrollment forms are available here or at the school office.
Entrance Requirements
The Diocese of San Diego Catholic Schools mandates that a child must be age six on or before September 1st in order to enter First Grade. Therefore, a child must be age five (5) on or before September 1st in order to enter Kindergarten. All new students must be evaluated prior to admission.
Documents Required
In order to complete enrollment, the following documents are required:
- Birth Certificate
- Baptismal Certificate
- Immunization Record (Yellow Card)
- Most recent report card
Immunization
All immunizations must be current, and an immunization card must be present upon enrollment. A physical exam must be completed for entry to Preschool and First Grade. All immunizations must be updated before a student is admitted to the classrooms.
Additional Requirements
All families will be required to subscribe to the school’s philosophy and agree to abide by the educational policies and regulations of St. Didacus Parish School and of the Diocese of San Diego upon enrollment.
Upon registration, a family must review, understand, and sign a “Philosophy, Registration, and Tuition Agreement” statement:
- I (we) agree to comply with all school and Diocesan policies and regulations. I (we) agree to uphold the standards of the school and I (we) pledge to cooperate with and support the administration, faculty, and staff, recognizing that positive and open communication between home and school is in the best interest of the school community, and is vital to creating a climate conducive to a quality education.
- I (we) recognize our responsibilities as the primary educators of our children. I(we) will strive to maintain a Christian atmosphere in my (our) home, by regular family prayer and Sunday worship. I (we) will cooperate with St. Didacus Parish School in maintaining and actively supporting a Catholic school community which teaches and reinforces Christian values and habits.
